Insulated, custom-built structure
EPS formwork pools
Expanded polystyrene formwork blocks are reinforced and filled with concrete. This creates a solid, insulated structure suitable for many shapes and sizes.

Construction step by step
How an EPS pool is built
The system combines lightweight formwork with the strength of reinforced concrete. Plumbing connections are prepared during assembly.
Base slab
Excavation, drainage, sub-base and a slab sized according to the design.
EPS formwork
Laying the blocks, reinforcement and preparation for return inlets and lights.
Concrete pouring
Controlled filling of the formwork and construction of the structure.
Lining
Preparation, waterproofing, reinforced PVC or the specified finish.

Benefits and points to consider
Benefits
- Good thermal insulation of the walls
- Efficient assembly with predictable schedules
- Reinforced concrete structure
- Rectangular shapes and custom options
- Technical penetrations can be integrated precisely
Points to consider
- Still requires excavation, a base slab and concrete pouring
- Levels and penetrations must be defined before pouring
- Very organic shapes may favour traditional concrete construction
- Final quality depends on installation and waterproofing
- Site access and ground conditions remain decisive

Does EPS mean the pool is made of polystyrene?
No. EPS acts as insulating formwork; the load-bearing structure is the reinforced concrete placed inside it.
Is it suitable for Ticino’s climate?
Yes, provided the structure, drainage, waterproofing and equipment are properly designed for the location.
Can I choose skimmer or overflow?
Yes. The hydraulic system and pool edge are defined in the design before construction.
